High water hinders shipping traffic
Week number 70-08
High water levels in the Meuse lead to problems for shipping. For reasons unknown, the yokes of the Belfeld weir failed to come down, putting the Belfeld shipping lock out of service. High water levels also cause problems in the IJssel, because some ships cannot pass under the bridge at Zutphen and ferries have been taken out of service.
