News from the West: education in Suriname
Week number: 57-35
Education in Suriname, including in old plantation houses and a schaafijsverkoper during the break. In the rice district, on the former plantation De Nieuwe Grond, a new school was opened for the children of Hindustani farmers growing rice in the area. There are many empty spaces in the classroom because the children have to help plant rice.
