With the invasion of the railway regiment No. 3 in 1910 and the No. 2 three years later, the formation of the 2nd Royal Prussian Railway Brigade in Hanau am Main was completed. Between 1908 and 1913, two large barracks, each with a capacity of around 2,400 men, were built for this traffic unit, together with two water training areas, a training depot, a war depot and a bridge pit.
