The trained carpenter Gustav Dittrich came from Oppeln and was, probably before the war, commander of the teaching infantry battalion in Potsdam. During this time he met his wife. Nothing is known about his wartime, but he survived the war unscathed. After 1945 the family had to leave Oppeln and finally settled in Görlitz.
