Louis Gill, Royal Horse Artillery
Royal Horse Artillery
Louis joined up aged 19 and served for the whole of the war. Prior to that Louis was a professional cricketer/printer. He joined the Royal Horse Artillery and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and issued with his own horse called Teacake. The postcard of Monas Queen shows the Isle of Man steam packet on which he was transported to France.
