My great-grandmother's porcelain
I am half-Danish and half-German, because my father is from Germany. The object that illustrates my family's migration story is the my great-grandmother's porcelain.
My great-grandmother fled from Poland after WWI and she stayed near Rostock, Germany for the rest of her life and started a family there. One item, that she managed to take with her, was her porcelain.
