Rescued Syrian migrants tell their stories
Horrific tales of migrants making treacherous voyages across the Mediterranean are commonplace nowadays - but the voices of those on board are rarely heard. Bahir, Hanif and Jamal (not their real names) were lucky to escape with their lives after surviving an ill-fated journey to the EU. Now in Nicosia, Cyprus, they tell Nathan Morley what drove them to such desperate measures.
