GERMAN PRISONERS OF WAR : camp in England for non-commissioned officers and men [Main]
The camp is mainly of wooden huts with a few permanent buildings, for German NCOs and other ranks. Roll-call is taken early in the morning by the Germans themselves. Most are wearing patched uniforms and civilian caps, and are obviously cold. New arrivals are issued with bed boards "on which to lay their mattresses".
